The book was published in 1988, and that was the birth of the company. However, it wasn't properly established until 1994, when Doreen and Bernard moved to Portishead. The first Coastal Shipping magazine was printed in the Spring of 1994, and for 3 years was printed 4 times a year. Since then, the magazine has been printed bi-monthly.
